The Fellowship Scheme

Five art forms are chosen each year across the fields of fine and performing arts, literature, craft and design, new media and film. The Foundation uses leading practitioners and experienced professionals whose key positions enable them to identify the most talented and deserving artists in each of the six art forms.

The use of nominators allows the Arts Foundation to function efficiently and economically without the need for large administrational overheads. It also makes the exploration of less supported art forms possible such as Circus, Documentary Making, Conducting, Essay Filmmaking, Curation and Digital Art, to name but a few.

The Fellowships are announced annually in London at The Arts Foundation Awards which has been hosted over the years by the likes of Brian Eno, Annie Lennox, Glenda Jackson, Will Self, Lord Palumbo, Grayson Perry, Rufus Norris and Sir Nicholas Hytner.

With media and guests invited from all five artforms the evening has become a must for cross-artform networking and has even resulted in cross-collaborative projects.
